    DM800HD External Hard Drive

    Hi,

I have a 250gb Seagate External Hard Drive but unsure where i need to start when it comes to setting up on DM800HD. I am using Nabilosat image. Initially i plugged in via USB and then went to Menu, Setup, System and Hard disk, Initialize. This does not do anything and gives me an error message 'error with partition'.
This hard drive was previously used on PC so would appreciate a step by step dummy guide.

    Thank you

    Sorry, can't really help.

Just to say I too tried with a Seagate 500gb and got the same message. Error with partition.

Now my computers refuse to see the drive at all so be careful

Anyone managed to add an external hard drive to a DM800HD Pro yet? A step by step would be great

Try formating the drive to ext3, you will need to do that using ubuntu o/s. You can download that for free, copy it to disc, you can the start your laptop via the disc (press f12 then boot via disc drive). When it loads you will get the option to try without instalation, do that. Go into system, and then gparted partition editor. Then find your drive and format to ext3. If your not quite sure, read up on it.

        Good luck

I think you can download gparted on its own and use it without installing Ubuntu. I use an esata external caddy for my 800hd.

Was never that complicated on the Blade 7000s, might just go back to that

If it worked on the Blade media 7000s won't it be ok to use on the dm800hd pro?
