Fitting a disc drive

How easy is it to connect a hard drive to a dm800 ? I've got a spare laptop not being used, how easy or hard will this task be, removing out from laptop & installed, how much would it cost roughly to be installed
Any advise would be appreciated

Its probably just as hard as getting it out the laptop. Its 4 case screw to get top of case. 2 screws for drive casing. Fit wires. Replace screws

Anythings easy if you know how. It's easy enough to do if you have a bit of pc knowledge.

Not much pc knowledge to be honest, never opened a laptop before, I didn't flash or do anything on my dm800 it was all sorted when i bought, Im new to the box, how much would it cost about for this to be done ?

Have a look on YouTube for a tutorial. Its 6 screws in the dm and prob 2 in laptop

you need a sata h/d to fit into the dm800
make sure the one in the laptop is sata (some are ide in older laptops)
taking the h/d out of the laptop and installing in the dm800
is not to difficult the dm manual will show how its done
you will need to format and mount the the disk in the dm800

2.5 sata 250gb , I've got leads tha came with my box are these what I need to insert it ? And after connected up, do I have to download anything ?
Or is it just work straight off ?
Advise would be appreciated pls guys

No leads required. It slides into socket on box.

My drive (Samsung) did not need formatted at all. Worked straight away, though there is an option in the menu to format/initialize HDD.

It's pretty straightforward to fit.

2.5 sata is fine...and if its a dm800hd you need the leads but if its an se then it is slots straight in.

i have tried to uploaded the manuaal to the dm800hd and its on page 43..explains how to install the hard drive, but it exceeds the file size on here...so will add to the downloads section now for you

New dm800HD se Clone hard drive installation

Hi,


I got a new hard drive for installation in a new sunray clone, it plugs into its caddy, but I can't seem to find anywhere i'm meant to connect the power to it from the dm800hd SE for the sata drive.


Any advice guys?
