    Fine tuning channel on dm800

    Alright lads,

    Need a bit of advice.

RUnning my dm800 and all channels I use seem to tuned perfectly except for 1 (Viasat XTRA 5).
Now the other channels on 4.8E are fine but this one has a really low SNR and picks up a fair few BER's.
So i don't think a physical dish re-alignment is required (plus its pretty cold and windy up here at the minute!), what i've been trying to do is just tweak the dish setup for this channel.
What i've been doing is going into POSITIONER SETUP. Then selecting the Predifined Transponder for Viasat XTRA5. Then going back and fine tuning the dish position, a few tweaks to the east gets me a good SNR and no BER. Then I try and store the position and it looks like it has saved to position 1.
Now when I exit the setup it asks if I want to zap back to previously viewed channel and when I do the settings have not saved and it goes back to previous dish position.

Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?

    Cheers

set up Tuner 1st turn off use usals for 4.8 and give it a store number - suggest anything but 1.

then do what you have been doing but store in the number you entered above.

    that should work.

you'd be better off watching the mags tho!!

Cheers for advice mate but how do I turn off using USALs on only 4.8, can't seem to find the option anywhere???

And as for the last comment I've been brainwashed from an early age so (un)fortunately I'm stuck with Sunderland!
