anouther thing to try if you hav'nt done so already
is to flash the latest bootloader and then without rebooting
the box flash the image and then boot the box

What image are you trying to flash?

Right OK, that's what I am using, patched by gjstroom. So is the box fully booting, and you can get to config the box.

So it's now crashing when you do anything regards tuner. I wonder if you have a bad connection where the tuner plugs in, or maybe a bad joint on the board. You will have to take it apart a tad to check that out. You seem to have eliminated most other things. Worth a look.

do you get any message on the led screen on the box?
i think the only way to clear the box is by using dreamup

the box will boot up it respond to what i am doing apart from the tuner problem and when i go to menu information and service it chashed to a green screen we are really sorry your dreambox has encounter a software problem

m8 try using this its sorted a few out for me i would even try running the no ca error part before flashing

m8 do not bin it things will work out ok they are just a bit of a struggle to set up for anyone thats not been down the linux,enigma2 road

im no expert ive only had a 800 about 2 years there is a few members on here know them inside out

what sim and what bootloader? do you have

i have a experimental image on mine and it works perfact i will get you the details later when i get the laptop thats its on

its for sim2 bootloader84 and this is where these boxs get messed up from what i can see but if you use the optiflasher to install image using lan cable it will tell you when you try to install the image if its suitable for your box it will install, or it will stop install if its not

also was it a linux box you where looking ?or just a box to veiw sat channels on because a blade bm7000s is the most simple box you will come across for setting up no more than 20 mins from opening the box it has a channel update built in sorts into groups ie sports moves ect and once you enter line if you are using that way has full sly line up and picture quality is second to none i look at dm800s as a play thing for people into the sat hobby if you just need a box to get the full tv package sell the dm and get a blade i have both and the blade wins hands down for veiwing, simplicity, recording onto harddrive,ease of use

Is the new tuner exactly the same model as the old? Is there a chance you can test this new tuner in another box?
