    DM 800 hdse died

hi. took my dm800hdse from home and plugged it into another dish. not a peep since. no booting, no oled display. nothing from the on/off switch at front, no reaction on it from remote. DCC has stopped recognising it.
Only thing thats happening is the telly is switching (via scart) when i flick the on/off switch on the back of the dreambox.

tried connecting via browser and it seemed to be loading the page first time but cant get it back since then.
can anyone tell me what i have ffff'ed up?

    Have you tried another psu?
If you can reflash i would try that.
Dont know if its me but there seems to be alot of problems with the Dreambox 800se.

    Andy.

the psu is routing through a wireless bridge and is powering that up fine.
cant seem to get browser to recognise box to flash from there.
no multimeter close to hand but i gave my dm500 to a friend, ill see if i can borrow its psu to try.
        thanks guys

No luck. 500 psu wont work on it either. and the 800 psu works fine on the 500. Any ideas?

Dunno how you got it wired mate, but just try with Ethernet cable to box/router an power cable straight to box, then apply power with on switched pressed, hopefully display will give you an IP address to reflash

doesnt seem to be. DCC isnt recognising it, no lights on the ethernet port(cant remember did they light before but there seems to be a green and amber light)

also tried a second ethernet cable no luck

                  edit
only sign of life is when i flick powerswitch on back the tv switched via scart(when i had it plugged in)

                  edit
and the bottom of the box is getting warm when power is on

Take top of box off and look for some swollen caps. Sounds like 1 or 2 blown if no life. My 800 did jt and a member fixed it for me

one more sign of life. i plugged the box into the laptop via the mini usb port and it installed the drivers for "Dreambox DM800SE" this was with the power on. but ive also just done it on another computer but this time with the power cable disconnected from the box.

Does it have a serial port to connect it via null modem?

if you get it to this stage agin....and loads the drivers...check on the oled display....you should have an ip address showing on there....browse by web browser from there.
