new 800se where do i start

were do i start
im used to openboxes but dreambox seems more confusing
ie: what image to use software to install. what epg
iver read through some of the posts but my heads mashed

I was in the same boat as you last week. Have you read the help guides on the forums?

Best bet is to have a read of the guides and see how you get on, any problems then post back. One thing I have learned is that people on the forums won't spoon feed you, if you have a go first then they are more likely to offer help and assistance.

Lots of guides on the forum.

I went for Openpli, works a treat and very stable. Maybe a bit boring in some circles but does the biz for me.

I used Crossepg as EPG.

Good luck....Bells or Famous Grouse also helps at times !

ive got the box plugged in, and it may as well have the menus in chinese
i can normally pick things up quickly, but this has me stumped

Hi

This is not as easy as an openbox but more to it. This is going to be a learning curve sometimes frustating but will feel gr8 when it all comes together.

Various images can be tried till you find one that suits you/box.

After various images Ive settled for Newnigma2 buy Sat4Fun Team and CrossEpg but trust me you will experiment, thats the fun of it.

There are many guides around and also read as much of the related threads to get an understanding and if you get stuck post a question and Im sure someone wil help.

It might be a bumpy ride but you`l love it.

bumpy ride you are not wrong
just screwed it up
did some updates via the box now i just get hang on boot up
just read somewere ( a bit late ) not to do this

Still not sure about this box it just seems more trouble than it's worth to set up
I'll have another go when I get in from work

Once you get tspanel on it mate your 3/4 of the way there, everything you need can be got from there, bar the big C obviously
