    Is this dude ripping me off?

    Hi guys. so here's the deal. I've had a dreambox 500s for about 2 years now. I don't know about you but I have this cable guy come to my house every 6 months so he can ''unlock the channels again'' I have all the channels I want. thing is this cable guy cuts the connection every 6 months, so in 6 months I must pay this guy (where I purchased the dreambox from) about 100$.
    I don't know what he does to open the thing again but I've seen him using his laptop. so can't I just do this myself? at home? is there like a program which I can download or anything? I think this dude is ripping me off TBH. I mean there must be something he does to make it work all again in like 10 minutes?
    Now, all the local normal channels work, but the channel I get from the internet won't work(ones I want), he needs to unblock them or whatever the heck he does.
    so any help please? I have no experience what so ever in all this so ehh I'm a newbie I GUESS!

      Yes he's ripping you off. Google card sharing. It's against the rules to talk about it here but theres lots of info around.

          Just keep paying him if the channels are working ok, if they are freezing you need to spend more time reading and posting on this forum, hth

              The channel do freeze from time to time actually, but still does the job. I really have no idea from where to start, I got zero knowledge when it comes to TV etc. isn't there a thread about this or something? I just want to work my dreambox by myself.
