    DM800 hd booting problem.

    Hi All,
Trying to get a DM800hd working for a friend. It would not boot up fully so I decided to re flash with new image. Now it just keeps going through the initial boot up sequence. The lcd display says 'booting' then the on screen logo disappears and the unit keeps repeating this. The label on the box reads DM800 pro dream sim 201. I have tried various images with different results. Maybe I am not using the correct image to start with. I suspect this is a clone but not sure. Any advise appreciated.

    Philly.

      Thanks Stew86.
I will try your suggestion as I have my suspicions that the fault may be a hardware issue. Sometimes it will load up fully and allow me to enter the setup menu etc. I get a notice that the tuner is not configured which I have setup. It then will go into rebooting mode. I will keep you posted.

        Hi Stew86
You were spot on. Tuner was pulling down one of the DC lines.
made it look like the system was rebooting. Had me fooled.
        Thanks,
        philly.

          Problem with a Dm800 pro clone (sim2.01).
It powers On, then Dream Multimedia appear approx 15
second on the front screen, then turns blank (black)
for another 15 seconds approx, the redlight starts blinking- not proceeding further, for fear of damaging any part on the motherboard.

Would welcome some guidance in order to get the box
          back on rail,
          THANKS IN ADVANCE

            Hi Kadnor,
My problem turned out to be a faulty tuner. I had similar symptoms as you are having. Try removing the tuner and see if box boots up fully.

              Hi Philly,
Thanks for coming to my rescue. I have taken the tuner out and power-on, the same danger RED light flashes.
I cleaned the Sim Card and place it back. Pressuing the sim firmly to touch elementsof the cradle, no positive result.

The red light can it possibly an IC is not working properly?
If your reply is YES, I should send it back to the factory(bought 9 months ago)
Will wait for your brotherly advice.
              Cheers

                Hi kadnor,
The only other prob I have had with these boxes is capacitors in the power supply area. If you go at these your warranty is out the window. I would send back to factory if its still under warranty.

The red light always comes on when its booting up
Switch it on holding in the power button until you see stop then let go, you will see a ip in the lcd, type that in your web browser and flash an sim 2.01 image on again.
