DM800 rejecting tuners

I have a strange problem here. Dreambox 800 sim2, BL 76 wont boot if there is a tuner. It keep on shutting down and booting half way. After removing the tuner the box boot fine. I tried 3 different tuners with same result. I then put the tuners on a different box and they are working fine. It means the tuners are fine. I flashed almost all images, from the old version BL69 but nothing has solved this

What might be the issue? and where to start if this can be fixed at all

Have you tried changing power supplies? Also check the main board to see if you can spot any signs of damage.

Also worth trying a newer SSL82 or SSL84 image and check the SIM is clean and inserted properly.

dm800 hd tuners

i have a problem with my DM800HD PVR when i go to watch a sky HD channel it freezes on and off i have been reading that a new tuner may solve the problem can anyone help please thanks in advance

If you have an old box, then a newer tuner may help. If you have a "Pro" box, then you should already have the latest tuner installed.

Also is it possible to take off the sim and clean it?

i suppose you could clean the sime but be carefull as the sim holders are not very strong. regards mdt
