Dm800pro remote unresponsive or very slow

    Is this normal?

It seems to perk up but can take over 30mins to do so and even then it is still not great, having to press a button multiple times and very hard.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

Yeah, tried 2 different sets, one from a new pack and the other were Duracell ones with the thing on the side to say how much power they have left.

It is just weird that it is sluggish for a while, sometimes 30 mins.

Compared to the Dreambox 500s all Dreambox 800s are very slow to switch to channels but you shouldnt be having to press that hard.

My response to the same question answered on another forums

I've not found a solution to this, the remote or response from the box is just sluggish. I have my remote set to also control the TV and for that it's fine so it's not the remote. There is a suggestion that changing the IR receiver in the box helps but I've had a look at the current receiver and to me it looks like the same part that people suggest you replace it with.

One thing worth checking is that the sensor is correctly lined up with the IR opening on the box as I've read reports of the sensor not being lined up or in one case a piece of plastic actually blocking the sensor.

I think it is more the actual working of it than anything else. I am use to using a vu duo and a dm500s so that will be what i was expecting.

I also had the oled out and had a look but it is all alligned up fine and is near enough dead centre with the little square box on the front housing.

            Cheers for the replies guys

              Try a new image,

I was using the dream elite phenoix 133 and it was slow

Now using BH 1.6.6 and works when you press it.

In that case the only other option is to try the suggestion of replacing the sensor. As far as I'm concerned the remote is fine as I point the thing in any direction and when set to TV my TV always responds.

The 800SE is much more responsive by the way, just the way the 800HD should have been in my opinion.

One other thing, is there anybody here with an original 800HD, wonder what their remote control is like?
