    Dreambox 800hd se audio?

    Hi guys,
I was going to order the dreambox 800hd se today but see it only has a dvi connection at the back and a digital out. I know dvi cannot carry audio and my plasma does not have a digital audio.
So can anyone recommend something other than a new tv or sound system.

    Tv is Panasonic th37pv500-b

it's the dm800hd that uses dvi to hdmi to connect
to the tv. the 800se has a hdmi port and uses a standard hdmi cable

DVI does carry audio, and works fine. I was using a DM 800 HD on my TV which has a DVI, and it worked fine.

The DM 800 HD has a DVI port, which is used for Video & Audio.
The DM 800 HD SE has a HDMI port, not a DVI.

You can buy DVI - HDMI converters for like ?2 off ebay (If you buy the DM 800 HD), I have like 5 lying around at home!.. Easy solution.

Also, I wouldnt bother with the DM 800 HD, Go with the SE. It has a HDMI, its noticeably faster switching channels, viewing EPG and surfing through the menus.
The SE also plays many different file types inc *.avi's. The normal DM 800 HD cannot do this (Pain in the a**, I have to convert films to MKV to view on my DM 800 HD).
And the fan turns off when the unit is in standby (SE). The normal DM 800 HD don't (Its on all the time, its loud, and its probably gonna break eventually).

I wish I had bought the DM 800 HD SE first time. I thought I'd go for the cheap model being my first box. (But now, I regret it, I wish I had spent the extra ?30-50 for the SE)

Hope this helps anyone else pondering what to buy..
