    HELP!!!

    HELP!!

I have just recieved my dm800se clone with built in WIFI from China - very please with it except...

It came with the allrussian-dm800se-02-01-2011, boot84 ,sim2.10 image.

Took it out of the box and Wireless was configured and working.

I have now flashed a new image and although the box detects my wireless network and I am entering my WPA key when I check the status it just fails - Wireless access point - Not Associated.

    Anyone got any ideas?

it may have been an idea to use the image it came with untill you read and learn more about the receiver
check the stickies in dm800se section

Never seen one of the newer ones with wifi , only thing I can think to check is make sure its compatable with your routers wireless encryption security, some devices only support certain protocols, tkip aes wpa etc

          Thanks Southpaw.

Dont think that is the issue as I have tried disabling security completely and get the same issue.

Also, it was working with the supplied image:

          allrussian-dm800se-02-01-2011

I have searched for this images and n I think the one I found is ssl82 - would this still work on my ssl84 box - sorry I dont really know what this means!!

Yeh you can use the 82 image. Just make sure its for your Sim type. Sim2 team presumedly?

If you got tspanel on it , there is some wifi drivers on there to download .
                tspanel / sat4fun server /sim2 tools plugins / wireless lan 3.2 dm800se

when i go to the network settings it can see my wireless network (as well as my neighbours) so does that mean the driver is installed?

                      Also...

I have been flashing via my browser - what does it mean when it refers to:

installation in internal flash or in multiboot

Flash your box via browser/usb cable it does not make any difference, usb is a lot faster thats all when used in conjunction with network settings.

Its reffering to how you can use the image . Some clone images are not capable of running if flashed in regular way (internal flash ) and need to be ran in multiboot (external usb or hdd ) . You can run a special "program " (meoboot or Barry Allen ) that lets you use an image without actually flashing it to the internal flash memory. Good for testing an trialing new images.

I would just download them drivers anyhow, wont do any harm if they already installed

                          Good luck mate

                            Thanks guys.

I have now tried dozens of images with varying success.

At the moment I am running Openpli - wifi working - problem is when I go to SoftCAM menu I click select softcam and it just displays softcam setup..... and nothing happens -

I defineitley have interent connection so that is not the issue - (I actually still have the ethernet cable connected directly to be sure.)

I also got a patched Dream Elite image running with wifi but the problem I had with that was that in the tuner configuration menu it would only allow me to select from 2 satellites - Astra 28.2 was not there!

I assume there must be an xml file somewhere which needed updateing - anyone care to shed some light?

                            Cheers

Tspanel can sort the cam issue , it has intergrated cam manager. it really is a must have so well worth installing,
As for your sats issue, I just use dreamboxedit to send sgtflipflops bouquets across an it usually updates the xml file, failing that pretty sure there is some on tspanel, infact you can even grab flipflops bouquets direct from there
