internal sata hard drive dreambox problem

hi there i have just fitted the hard drive and its not initializing
(error mount failed) i previously had the drive checked for a ?10 ? and he
said i was ok ??? any help would be great.

I have found it needs to be formatted on a pc before i can get it to mount on some dm800 images

how do you go about doing that? without physically swapping hdd,i don't want to take out my pc hdd,i don't think i have the original software.cheers
