This is probably a stupid question but looking at purchasing the following:-

Dreambox 800SE DM 800-SE DM800SE HD PVR

just checking Available Options are

DVB-C Tuner
DVB-S Tuner

It is DVD-S I need price is ?170 does this sound ok?

thanks how do I know if its a clone or originall just looking online and prices range from ?170 to ?500!!!!

Looking on this site but with just starting off its like a mine field.

Are you getting the box direct from China, if you are then ?170 if a bit on the high side, I'd expect to pay around the ?150-155 ish mark

If the ?170 is from the UK then that's not that bad a price.

Anything around the ?150 mark (from China) and around the ?200 mark (from the UK) will be a clone.

EDIT: Forgot to put that yes it is the DVB-S tuner that you need for connecting the box to a dish.

Also china boxes say 'sunray' instead of dreambox is this the same box?

no.. 99% of peps on here have clones.. and it says sunray because of customs seizing them as counterfeit if they put dreambox on them, but that name plate is the only difference

I've only ever used clone boxes and never had any issues. Boxes might say Sunray or even NewDVB or something similar, it's just branding to get around counterfeit laws, the boxes should all be the same regardless of the badge.
