internet problem (need wireless?)

hi all im in need of a bit of help i have got a dm800 hd all setup running brilliantly EXCEPT my main socket for my internet comes in from my sons room up stairs back room and my dm box is downstairs front room im running an extended fone line to the upstairs front room then a long ethernet downstairs to dreambox it was working ok but now i keep losing all my internet speed cause of the extended fone line the answer to my problem would be to connect it wirelessly but i dont know if i can? and i also read about homeplugs but i dont really understand how they would work? any help much apreciated

homeplugs are most expensive way of sorting it, but they're the most reliable, a pair will set you back around ?25-?30, one plugs into wall socket by router and coonect via ethernet lead.. the other plugs in by dm and connnects to that by ethernet lead..
the other way, which is slighty cheaper is a vonets usb wifi adaptor, which will plug into ur dm via ethernet,
last option is to either by a wireless bridge or hack an old router to make one

there should be a super thanks button 4 YEARS i have had this problem my internet speed atm is 0.60 meg as i am losing all my speed in the extended fone line and your telling me i could connect through plugs lmao so you think i should go with the 34 quid 1 ? and will it be easy enough to set up dont forget im dumb shady

be a doddle to set up plug adaptors into wall, plug ethernet from devices to adaptors
them ones will do the job admirably

BUT... hang on... ur router is in sons bedroom because thats where main socket is.. so WHY are you running a phone line from downstairs to upstairs?

tho fone line is running from sons upstairs back room to my bedroom pc where my modem is and pc then i run ethernet from there to downstairs had to do this as i couldnt get an ethernet long enough right pain in the ass pal

These cables are for splitting a single Cat5 cable across two ports, two ports in, two ports out. Their only benefit is not having to run two cables.. These will not split a single port into two ports, you would need an Ethernet Switch/Hub to achieve that..

Even the cheapest 5 port Ethernet Hub/Switch on Amazon would be good enough for your needs, so with a cheap Powerline adaptor and an ethernet switch you'll be good to go, have a look on Amazon.. Dont forget to buy a few cheap ethernet patch leads while your at it..
