    Hdd problems

    I'm having problems with initallising my hdd in dm800se.I've formatted my 500gb hdd to fat32 on my pc,but when i try to initallise it,it reads unable to initallise hard disk error:creating partition failed.
    Can anybody help me,it's doing my head,,thanks

    Hi mr e. You need to format the drive to ext3, you will need to do that with gparted partition editor.
    You need to reed up on that as you will need to get gparted downloaded to a dvd or usb, you then need to boot your laptop via the disc drive or pen drive. It's not to difficult, but if your not sure there is plenty of info on how to.

      hi 00360362878,i'm still at a lost at this.i've managed to format my hdd to ext3 and mounted it,but when i try to initalise it,comes out with a error/etc,fstab not found,any ideas please???
      just gotta add that now it's reading error:creating partition failed

        Might be worth trying a different image, possibly the HDD that is damaged.
