dm 800 nothing but ethernet lights

hi guys
i wonder if sumone would help me
i have wanted a dreambox 800 sincehey came out but havent been able to afford 1 (still cant)
i thought my cheapest option is to buy faulty and repair it miself
i bought faulty box from fleebay
box in great condition only just 12 months old but with error of only ethernet lights on ive seen that there is a fix for this so saw it as a good bet
so now have a box that i need to fix
been trying the methods 1 and 2 in the stage 2 zip but cant seem to get it to work
ive opened the box and tried without tuner and put it back in and all seemed ok in the box (no brown marks)
tried on xp mode and win 7 64bit but cant get it to go
when i plug in power i get a flash from oled but thats all no ip nothing
can anyone suggest anything ive missed

Its most probably the PSU unit which is gone.

Get a new power supply unit and give it a try. If you have a netgear router the power supply units have the same voltage

DM500 and DM800 PSU units have different voltage. Get proper DM800 PSU or better still look for netgear internet router PSU.

I had 2 boxes with same problems before and it was all down to low voltage being supplied by the PSU

i tried with a universal laptop charger set at 12 3.5a
funny thing if i plug in the power then remove then plug in again i get a flash on the oled but it seems to have an ip addy on there at least 6 numbers but not managed to catch them all yet so cant try it in explorer any other ideas
