The dreaded 'Error 01 No CA Found'

I wonder if someone can help before i go mad, so many threads discussing this..

Basically i bricked my 800HD using an original bootloader image, yes stupid i know, only realised after.

So ive tried various versions of dreamup none of them manage to detect my dreambox on power up, nor am i able to overide the No CA found error on power up holding in power button.

Im not sure what bootloader to download, although i tried one with the 'enforcer' option and it said 'file to big'

I was using the usb/serial from maplin with a brand new null modem cable but after reading mixed reviews on the drivers i built my old machine with a single com port and connected direct same issue.

Possibly off on a tangent here im completely pissing in the wind. Ive some people were unable as their 800HD was an estar sim?!

    All i know is boot82,gemi5.1,sim2.10,tunner alps M.

If anyone has had experience with similar issues and can help me out please im going nuts.

    thanks

Just an upate i tried again with hyperterminal powered up and hitting enter many times, then i think i hit the 'f' key and i saw some life on hyperterminal:

        b????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????b???????????
        ?????????????????????????????????????????????????c ??????????????????????????????
        ?????????????????????????????????b???????????????? ??????????????????????????????
        ?????b

now it' booted to dhcp then booting! Now says 'system message' on front, so something works.

Try applying power now with "on " button pressed, hopefully your box will display an IP address, then you can flash any sim2 dm800 image to it in the normal browser method

Thanks Southpaw tried this many times power held on doesn't do anything, instant error on display.

But now ive discovered hitting the 'f' key in hyperterminal then prompts the dreambox to continue booting as if ive held power button and display shows dhcp and IP i now have flash menu via web!!

Ok which bootloader or image can i use? As above i had Sim 2.1 with bootloader 82 for 800hd clone, can someone post me link to correct bootloader or image to fix?
            Thanks

Just to add via the web interface i have below which is what i think i flashed which ****ed things up as it was 82 when it worked ok and this 84 i think was from the original dreambox de site ahem!

            ??? second stage loader #84 (2011-09-02)

              Update

So now my box is backup and working.

So for anyone else out there having this issue

Dreambox 800hd not responding to dreamup see below:

              Requirements: Null modem cable

Procedure (With XP and hardware serial port)

              1)Ensure dreambox is unplugged

              2) Connect dbox to com port with NULL MODEM CABLE, do not try using a gender changer on a standard usb/serial cable. (Should be com1)

              3) Fire up Hyperterminal create profile using profile

              connection 115200 8 none 1 none

4 Click ok to activate should see a flashing cursor in hyperterminal

5 Power up Dreambox, wait few seconds and hit the 'f' key.

You should see the 'Err01 no Ca found' dissapear, a few lines of garbage appear in hyperterminal window and dreambox loading onto 'STOP' looking for DHCP assigned IP.

IP should be displayed shortly after where you can follow many other procs on here to access http://<displayed ip> and proceed with loading the correct SSL image.

              I grabbed this one

              Digital Kaos - Downloads - SSL84b for DM800 sim 2

Then flashed a new SSL84b image which was this

All working fine now! Ive not seen a single method online using what i did above, my discovery was nigh on fluke as i started bashing the keyboard in frustration and the ****ing thing started working mindless violence occasionally works.

Note if you dont have XP and hyperminal. For Windows 7 you download putty under 'session - connection type - select serial and then you can select your com port there. I have not tested this with usb/serial lead. I read many things about driver issues with the maplin lead and was having so many issues with dreamup no responding i binned it using a direct com port.

Anyway i hope this saves somebody from wasting a whole day n half pissing about with dreamup versions to find none of them work!

              cheers,

its alot better than dreamup you just click do job and power on your dreambox and few mins later allsorted

Hi Ash do you have the 'No CA found' issue? see above Potrobber posted a link to a newer app which apparently unbricks most.

Saying that none of the dreamup revisions worked on mine and i tried an older app by Yassinov and it didn't work on mine.

Anyway in answer to your question i commented above, hyperterminal is on Windows XP its not on Windows 7. If you have windows 7 google for putty and download the .exe fie, launch putty under, 'session - connection type - select serial and then you can select your com port there.

Let me know how you get on. Are you using a Serial null modem cable on a com port or usb/serial with null modem attached?
