aye mate indeed like i said none of them worked for me as i dont see any output from hyperterminal on bootup (not until i hit the f key) which im guessing most of these apps are looking for some sort of signal.

Be interested to hear what he reports back any update Ash?

So for anyone else out there having this issue

Dreambox 800hd not responding to dreamup see below:

        Requirements: Null modem cable

Procedure (With XP and hardware serial port)

        1)Ensure dreambox is unplugged

        2) Connect dbox to com port with NULL MODEM CABLE, do not try using a gender changer on a standard usb/serial cable. (Should be com1)

        3) Fire up Hyperterminal create profile using profile

        connection 115200 8 none 1 none

4 Click ok to activate should see a flashing cursor in hyperterminal

5 Power up Dreambox, wait few seconds and hit the 'f' key.

You should see the 'Err01 no Ca found' dissapear, a few lines of garbage appear in hyperterminal window and dreambox loading onto 'STOP' looking for DHCP assigned IP.

IP should be displayed shortly after where you can follow many other procs on here to access http://<displayed ip> and proceed with loading the correct SSL image.

        I grabbed this one

        Digital Kaos - Downloads - SSL84b for DM800 sim 2

Then flashed a new SSL84b image which was this

All working fine now! Ive not seen a single method online using what i did above, my discovery was nigh on fluke as i started bashing the keyboard in frustration and the ****ing thing started working mindless violence occasionally works.

Note if you dont have XP and hyperminal. For Windows 7 you download putty under 'session - connection type - select serial and then you can select your com port there. I have not tested this with usb/serial lead. I read many things about driver issues with the maplin lead and was having so many issues with dreamup no responding i binned it using a direct com port.

Anyway i hope this saves somebody from wasting a whole day n half pissing about with dreamup versions to find none of them work!

        cheers,

Cool Ken aka DJ Ken (ondawunzantooos)

        nothing worked...

the putty thing opened up recognised the box then just displayed lost of foreign letters etc...

really dont know where to go from here...might bin it

If you're gonna bin it ill have it

Just a recap, what model do you have, i gather an 800hd? As you have a display?

So you power up the device and it instantly displays Err01 no CA' ? What exactly do you see in putty? So you hit the f key or enter key and the display on the dreambox does not change?

Have you tried all keys? Stab in the dark but, thats how where i ended up, and it worked.

will probably have another bash at it later.

if i open it up and unscrew it will it tell me inside what sim etc it is?

yes when i power on i get that damn error straight away and it says something about dreambox7020.com i think?

tried again, does bugger all. f key, nothing.

the terminal thing just displays weierd caracters then does nothing when i hit F or any other key...damn this is getting me down now. need it sorted.

when i hook the box up to my virgin hub it tells me the ip is 192.168.0.6 but when i put that in browser it doesnt bring up a page ffs.

                  thanks CoolKen

                  Hi guys,
I tried every tool or application that is on the internet to get rid of NO CA FOUND and nothing was working, simply the DM didn't communicate with the PC or Llaptop.

After reading the message from CoolKen, eventhough I was thinking about that solution but didn't tried, I connected my llaptop with OS Win7 via usb to serial and then null modem cable to DM, created a new connection with the suggested speed on the putty and tried hitting the "f" key couple of times but nothing happened. Then I tried to hit some other keys also capital letters and I sow the NO CA FOUND dissapearing and the DM got an IP Address, so it was working again .

                  Thanks again CoolKen.

Right after reading this im still getting nothing, when i try putty the response is 'cant open serial port'.

Im using the suggested the speed but getting nothing.

Dead serial port on the DM800 perhaps?

Have tried every version of dreamup and optoflasher.

                      Hi

Probably stating the obvious but have you selected the correct com port.

                      Regards

                          Hi

Just going out now but can you recap what youve tried so far and have you tried the optiflasher. I just used it on a friends dm800 with win7 and usb adapter and worked gr8, one click and its repaired.

                          Regards

This box no ca'd on me a while back, tried dreamedup patched on it a couple of times, no response, stumbled across this thread today, tried it, very little response other than the 1 symbol on screen.

Havent tried any newer versions of optiflasher as it doesnt seem to want to run on my windows 7 setup.

Ive repaired a no ca a box a while back no bother using a usb2serial and dreamup, but for the life of me i cant get this one budging.

                              Hi

If thats the case then I would deffo try to do it on older lappie or desktop with a dedicated serial port and maybe even xp as the operating system.

                              Regards

Ive got optiflasher 1.6, i think, running but its still not picking it up, on the putty i was using a direct serial port, shoulda said. Sorry.

Im really beginning to think this thing is gubbed.
