    Newbie - Help!

I am thinking about canceling my Sky+ account and getting a DM800HD.

I am new to all this so just trying get a few questions answered:

    1. Do i need to attach a hard drive via USB or is there an inbuilt hard drive?

    2. If i am recording a show on one channel at 8pm-9pm then a show on a different channel at 9pm-10pm, will the box automatically record both shows?

    3. Can i watch one channel while recording another?
Thanks in advance for your help

The answer to your question are :-

    1. The dm800hd is not automatically supplied with a hdd.
although some suppliers will fit one for you. A 2.5 sata disk
fits inside on a cage (existing) you also get the necessary connector lead. A esata hard drive can also be fitted externally via usb instead of internal.
    2. The dm800hd is a single tuner that can only record channels on the same transponder.Generally when you are recording ,most other channels are not available.
However if it was say sky movie channels then it is possible to record upto 4 channels or 3 and watch a different movie channel because they are on the same transponder.

As you will probably gather asking a question generally raise,s further questions.
I suggest you use the search button and look at say a Vu+ duo to sucessfully record 2 channels on different transponders.
