help default username and password changed on fxp cant access dm

i have a dm500 but the username and password has been changed. its not root and dreambox anymore. also there is a pin on setup and blue that i dont know.

so how can i crack it??? the only thing i know is the box ip!!!!

Hi Mate, press MENU, then jog down and press EXPERT SETUP, jog down and press FACTORY RESET, then select and press YES, this will reset the dreambox back to it's original settings.

Thanks mate for your help, the only thing is i will lose everything thats setup on box. Plus i need a pin to get into set up mode.

Have you got tuxbox commander plugin on the box, if you have and you can access it then you can retrieve pin and also sort password out.

Then what are gonna have to do is make up a backup of your image via dreamup and the use ViewVar for windows to access the backed up image and retrieve the info you need.

Hi Mate, in my short experience with DM500's , i've found it usually best to factory reset and start over, the only pin you should need after a factory reset, is 1234.
