Dreambox 800HD & se with Alsat dark motor

Hi all Purchased Alsat dark motor - the one with metal gears - couple of weeks or so ago and have been trying ever since to get working with DB 800HD se. The motor moves to different satellites (at most a couple of times) and then I get the "tuner fault" show up on screen and 0% signal showing. Have returned tuner from unit and in the meantime dug out the old 800HD and when I tried the motorised dish on that blow me it's doing the same!! Have I got a faulty motor (drawing too much current) or is the Dreambox 800 range just not capable of driving these motors? Thank goodness I've got access to another dish with multi LNB set up!!! Thanks for all help/advice given.

Hi, I'm using a dark motor with a 800hd original and 1 metre dish and it works with no problems at all, might be your tuner configuration.

We've fitted loads including quite a lot to Dreambox clones [ mainly 800s ] & they've done very well.

Does it behave differently if it's moving to a horizontal channel or vertical channel?

Can you test the load in amps?

      Might be over tightened.
