d800 sees all channels then freeze and "Tune Failed"

just unpacked my spare d800 (enigma 2) I havent used for some months, plugged in , new flipflop bouquet and all worked well for about 5 mins. Then most (not all) of the hd channels froze and then threw up the "Tune failed". So I reboot and/or stop and start the cam and it works again for about 3 or 4 mins....Oh and SNR goes to zero!

    any ideas techies?

    Thanks

Try using another PSU, failing that fckd tuner mate.

Also make sure the tuner hasn't slightly unseated when you disconnected it originally

But how can the tuner be US when it works great on other HD channels. eg sly movie classics , indie and premier no good but others OK. All HD channels bbc1,2,ITV 1 chan 4 OK but channel 5 no good, surely if it was the tuner then all channels would be affected or not?

No, fairly common fault for the tuner to fail on hd channels and go to snr yet ok on sd. I just had to ship my mates back to China for a replacement.

A fcked PSU can cause crazy problems too, I have saw channel menus disappearing on the dm500 with a faulty PSU.

Unfortunately you need to eliminate everything untill you narrow it down.
