i have a dm800pro ssl82 sim 2.1 currently running phoenix 2.01 image ,have been told i can load any sim2.01 image with sim2.1 being backward compatible so can i load a ssl84 image for sim 2.01 CHEERS

Yes, best was is to 1st only upgrade the bootloader to 84, then reboot directly back into ***STOP*** mode then flash your image, DO NOT reboot, flash bootloader 84 again, then reboot.
Reason for this is if you try flashing a SSL 84 image directly without having SSL84 on the box already you may get an error along the lines of "invalid or old image".
