New problem, cant find solution.. STB crashes when remote or power button used

My STB has been dying a slow death. Its a bl 75 dm800 and it has been operating fine for exactly 2 years now but recently its been playing up, many channels have been losing signal or breaking up constantly before tune failed message appears on the screen. I put in a fully functioning tuner (l3+amp) and same problem occurs. motor has been changed but the lnb hasnt.. anyway thats not the problem today when i went to use the remote the DREAM button was lit up red although i wasnt pressing anything!! when i tried to press something the box froze.. okay so i rebooted and i tried to put the stb into standby using the power button on the front, crashed again but this time completely switched off even the oled screen.
however the stb is fine using the web control (MASSIVE HEADACHE!!!)

    SOFTWARE OR HARD WARE?
Been out of this scene for a while? whats the best reciever to go for? a newer version of the dm800hd clone or a newer stb?? advice welcome

sorry for making you read such a long and boring post!!

You may have already tried but maybe it's running out of time, 2yrs (not too bad)
      I would try:-
      1. Different PSU.
      2. Re flash.
      3. Make sure everything is clean and seated properly including sim card.
      4. Check for disscoloured/bulging capacitors.

Not sure there's much more you can do.

      Good luck! 003

if the red dream light is on permanently you might have a button stuck down. might be worhwhile to strip and clean remote

along with checking the remote.........if it is crashing when you press the standby button on the box....then...i would say...you should start by flashing a brannd new image onto it.

i know after a while the box loses it's responsiveness.....i reflash every six months to keep box in tip-top working order.
