hdd for dm800

hi guys,
i'm looking for to buy external hdd to my dm800hd pvr. do i have to buy the one which connect to original dm800 sata cable or could be with usb connection aswell? Thx.

how about power? i've read somewhere that there is not enough power for ext hdd from usb port.
