800Hd Pro Remote Probs

Got a problem here on a friends box, he was having issues with it and was running very sluggish. His hd channels would come up with tuner failure, green screens and he had to constantly reboot.

So thought I reset it all for him with a new image etc, got it all sorted where things were running better but could tell there would be problems in the future.

He was also having problems with his usb stick so he asked me to fit an internal hard drive and from there things went worse.

Installed the hard drive and although there are problems thats not the main issue now.

The remote will now not work, Ive checked it and so then I checked the ribbon and seems that the sensor on the front panel has gone kaput no idea why. I can only control the box via the web remote. No idea why this would happen after the install of the hard drive as front panel was not touched.

Also the sim says 210 on it but the images are 2.01 would that make a difference.

Anyway to get the remote working again.

Hi

Just took everything apart and put it back together but still no good. Anybody any ideas at all. Maybe Il take votage readings on the panel tomorrow but dont think will make any difference. Maybe a coincidence and lcd panel remote sensor just decided to f*ck up after hdd install..

Id install a sim 2.1 image just to be sure, and reflash a new image, perhaps one of the ones with less going on to start with?

I am sure you checked the batteries and that tv aint been pressed by accident on the remote but thought id mention it anyway

Ive done all the obvious checks, Ive got an se box and mine and his remote work fine on mine but both remotes dont work on his. Also have tried a few 2.01 images and all same results.

does the box have wireless, if so disable it and try mate

I would put something less glamorous on it like Openpli and dont install to many addons or mount any drives or usb sticks.

Mmmm come to think of it, it did have pli on it before when he bought it to me but remote was working with other images.

Its only after I installed hard drive it stopped working, tries a few images after that and took hard drive off but still same.

As for addons its only got the cross epg on top of whatever came with the image.

Ive allready told him to come pick it up but might be temted to try PLI again.

Couldnt resist but to give it one more try with the Pli image but still the same so now nothing else to try and m8s come and picked box up told him to use the webremote to control the box.

Might be nothing in it because I haven't checked what the settings might be, because I don't want to alter anything in my settings that I may regret. On the pli image menu>setup>system>input devices, there are some options/settings there you may want to check out regards remote.
As I say may be nothing, worth a look.
