    DM800se for beginner

    Hi,
I've been looking at which box to buy for a few weeks now and I've decided on a dm800se clone rather than the dm800hd.

The person I'm buying it from can put an image on it for me, if he does this what more do I need to do once it arrives? I'm going to be using it with my current sky dish for free to air channels for the time being so it wont need to be connected to the Internet for this will it?

I've read through the tutorials but these only say how to flash it with an image not what else I'd need to do. If I then wanted to pay for other channels would I need to put a new image onto the box to use the clines or just transfer the file? Can anyone point me in the direction of a thread that shows how to connect the box to my pc?
    Thanks in advance!!

Good questions, it depends on your image, but most images have access to menu's so you should be able to install any additional extras not on the image without too much difficulty

It's the dream elite image that's going to be on it. Will this basically be enough to just plug it in for fta and then to edit in future?

        THE TRUTH
        The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

Putting a good set of bouquets on will give you a good channel list, you can download them from the red stickies and use a program called Dreambox Edit.
Theres also a guide for that but you will need your network setting up for you to do this.

I've had a look at some of the bouquets and saw people talking about one called clock something. Is there a guide to setting up the network for it, I can't seem to find one only guides for adding images or are they within that? Also I've read it needs a null modem cable, is that the only way I can connect my computer to it? Thanks

Two good sets of bouquets on here either Sgtflipflops or Catseyes.
I like Catseyes because they offer a good choice of multi sats.
If you set the network up correctly you will be able to do all of this wirelessly including changing images, downloading plugins etc

Heres the guide below to Dreambox edit
