do i need to upgrade bootloader?

i have dm800hd pro with sim 2.01 bl76.and blackhole hyperspace on it. but want to upgrade to a newer image. iv read you can flash a patch image on box without the need to upgrade bootloader? if thats the case wot image would anyone recommend to flash?

You can only use the same image as you have bootloader, or at least thats the safest option, most images come with the bootloader already included with a few exceptions.

Although, its always good to have them to hand just in case
