    dm800hd fan issue

Hope someone can help here. I have just bought what was supposed to be a good working condition dm800hd sim 2.01 which i believe to be the older version of my dm800hd pro 2.10. on inspection i found it to be very poor condition(old bootloader 75,broken remote, screws missing but two, build up of grease inside and a burnt out fan which i believe the grease to be the suspect. Well i took my fan from my pro and put it in the box that i just aquired and the fan is racing at high speed and i just do not know why this is.vsually everything looks fine after cleaning all the inards and loading new software but this fan is doing my head in now. i have a replacement on the way so i can get both up and running but does anyone know how this is doing this and can anything be done to slow it down. Help is once more needed please.

You could mod the USB laptop cooler, chop the usb off and replace with a scart. Then it should turn off when in standby.

Hi, i got a better mod,

            get one of these
3.5 80mm HDD Hard Disk Drive Single Cooler Cooling Fan with 4pin Molex Connector | eBay

chop end bit, also chop the wire connection from the internal fan join both together, wire fits through top vent, so now cools great and turns off in standby

Looks like very brilliant mate....Do you have the fan on the box? This on you linked from ebay, Is this quit???? which on did you buy?

I have seen fans with 3 pin molex connector...is 3 pin compatible with dreambox...I think it should be because i am cutting at the and and the volt are same 12v.

Use black and red. Yellow is sensing RPM. Test before closing.
