Wireless LAN on DM800

How To use Wlan on DM800HD PVR

1. Menu--> Setup --> System --> Network --> Enable Wlan



2. Connect Your Wlan dongle and press OK



Your Dreambox will restart to enable wlan
3. Now You will see all networks around. Select right one and press OK on it.



4. Here You need to choose what You want to use DHCP or No ( both mode is OK).



In same window You need to select Encryption Type and put Encryption Key - USE ONLY WPA WEP mode is not work here ( if somebody have success using WEP mode please inform us)
Also by pressing blue button You can put Your ISP Primary and Secondaty DNS ( if it need).



Now press OK to activate all changes
You have working WLAN on Your new baby now smile.

To roll back Your wired line go to
Menu--> Setup --> System --> Network --> Enable LAN

Does enigma2 have a wlan option, I can't find it in the menu.

DM800 images are enigma2.

I have Enigma2 installed and cannot find the menu option for Wireless lan does this mean i need a later version of Enigma2?
Mine is Enigma: 2008.11.29

no enigma2 is the type of image not the name of it.. you need to know the name of your image like Jade or Nabilosat

Sorry for being a dick in my previous post, i seem to understand what opsmonkey is asking now. problem is still do not know the answer.

I have gone to menu > Information > about as per westkill instructions: reads as follows:

Release 390 which guessing is the Gemini Project Image
Then lower down
Image: 2008.11.29
Enigma: 2008.11.29

Hope someone makes sense of it?

yes it would be gemini version 3.90
ive never used a wireless dongle
so not 100% sure how to do it
i can only guess if you use a newer image and have it in the dreambox on the first boot and go through the wizard network setup
unless someone has tryed it

Thanks for the reply Westkill,

There is a number of things wrong with the Dreambox at present which i am trying to get to the bottom of,(easer said than done). As far as i can evaluate i do not have a clone, but reading the posts if i upgrade to the latest Gemini image i may have more issues.
Hopefully someone may be able to let me know what release level of software i need for Wireless LAN, but i think your right,
i will need to upgrade?

hi guys, can anyone help me?
I have a 3com 3CRUSB10075 based on the ZydasZD1211 chipset and im trying to get it to work with my DM800.

Ive followed the guide but there is no enable WLAN option in the menu. I have installed the aditional modules but still no option to do it. I have also tried the nabilosat blackhole 0.11 but still no option anywhere for wlan.

any help?

Just bought a TP Link wireless dongle from Microdirect.co.uk for ?14.69,have got my DM800HD working on 28.5e,using the original Gemini image as supplied but still can't find any reference to installing a WLAN.On my receiver the dongle is not activated,the active LED is not illuminated and the dongle does'nt get warm,so assume there is no volts being supplied to it.Anyone got any decent ( none rude)suggestions???Cheers Chas.
