Is My Box Broken

dm800hd is connected to my pc with a serial to usb converter and it finds the box no problem, when i use dreamup patched it has the no ca 2nd boot loader error but i can get the box in serial mode that shows the ip address, so i flash the box with web browser then restart the box but i get multimedia error on front panel now and that was flashed with the image above

Can't you just give the box back to your 'TV guy' and say it just stopped working? Also, did you back the config on the box up before flashing as I assume it's a 'special' box, if you didn't then you'll have to go back to him anyway.

i have said to him and he would take back and do no problem but i need this to give back to my friend so dont wanna wait a week for it, i know how to do everything for my special box just need a working image on it. he said to put a very old image on it with a low bott loader to get it going but cant find one?

So what message exactly are you getting on the OLED?

at the min when i hold power button and put power in to get ip address im getting multimedia error

you'll need to register, then scroll down to the bottom of that post and get DreamElite_BH_DM800_123A_BL70.zip It is for SIM1 I think but other people have used it to recover their box and I assume that it can't make the situation any worse, can it?

Use the patched version of DreamUp which is what I assume you've been using, make sure the serial cable and the LAN cable are attached to speed things up.

when using dreamup i get the 2nd stage bootloader problem

What happens if you just leave the box for say an hour with that error, does it try anything else? I've seen reports that in some cases the box eventually comes back with a CRC type error.

have opened the box and i see the sim card holder is broken and the sim cant be sitting right so i have held the sim down while booting and hey presto the box is booting not a problem thanks for all the help and time guys, just one more question where do i get a sim card holder for dm800hd pvr box and it looks like the bit actually on the dreambox where the sim holder clips on to is also broken
