dm800 wrong image flashed on dm800

    Hi all,

I have a clone here sim2.01, it came with an pli image ssl 75
It was flashed with a ferrari ssl 84 and gives the no ca found error. (btw, what is a ca?)

Also I did try to flash it with a null-modem cable but it doesn't find the box.
What I did was connect my own dm800 (original) with the null-modem cable and dreamup found it. Then I connected the bricked clone and the display told me Ferrari #84, box is in serial mode.
I pressed the flash button and it said "calculating checksum and wait for the box say OK"
Well the box is not giving an OK.
I rebooted the clone and it still comes up with no ca found.

Anyone knows what is happening here?

Better of trying again with Dreamup and null modem cable.
That method you used can work.
Loads of threads on No Ca Found but patirnce is the key.
Keep trying till the box gets recognised.
Dreamup 1.3.3.4 is the most popular,
    Also try this program

Digital Kaos - Downloads - dreambox enforcer

You cannot put a Ferari image on a sim2 card. You will need to reflash with a Sim2 image.

      THE TRUTH
      The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

I am ready to flash the clone again, well I can at anytime but I need my own dm800 for start up dreamup, but what should I flash: just a patched bootloader or a complete image?

Well you can but it won't work, makes me wonder why there is no warning or a message that tells you that you have the wrong image.

Is it compatible with sim 2.01?
Another strange thing is that when I opened the box I saw sim 2.10 somewhere (I think it was on the simcard)

Try to take onboard the advice mate.
We have been at it a bit longer than you and you're on here cos you need some help which we gladly give up our time for.
All you need to know is to Only flash Sim2 images on your box.

                  Andy.

For now I get no luck, dreamup keeps waiting for the OK to start

The wife wants her dreambox back so I finish for today.
Thank you and I will keep on trying later this weekend.

Like i said mate patience is the key, might take one go it might take hundreds.
There is a patched version of Dreamup in downloads and several others its finding the one that works.
It will work but just takes time.

                      Heres another program to try.

                      Andy.

                        Hi

Have you tried optiflasher e2 1.08. Not sure but no harm in trying.

Also the method you tried again not sure as Ive only tried that with a 500s but when dreamup errors out after you have connected the faulty box close dreamup down and restart it again and it might connect, that method works for the 500s.

I know you say you can get working box to connect to dreamup but can I ask if you have got a dedicated serial port.

                        Regards

I tried optiflasher yes, no luck either, seems like nothing is happening. The cable I use is good, I did use it with different other boxes and it works fine.

Well Andy, it is working now.

                            Here is what I did.

                            1. connected my original dm800pvr to dreamup 1.3.3.4
                            2. waited till it uploaded
                            3. took out the rs232 and utp and put in the broken box then connected the power.
The broken box booted with the no ca error and after a few seconds the display told me "FERRARI SSL78F *** SERIAL SETUP ***"
but there was no way to do anything using the serial port.
                            4. I repeated steps 1-3 about 12 times then suddenly the display had an ip number 192.168.1.19 in it
                            5. I opened Internet Explorer and typed the IP and got the flash firmware, flashed it and its working now.

                            6. I'd like to thank you for helping me!
