    What causes Dreambox to overheat?

    Hi

I am considering buying either a DM800SE or a DM7025HD but the 7025HD has no fan.

I wanted to ask if its having an internal HDD in the box that causes some dreamboxes to overheat? Or do they get hot anyway?

    Thanks

As with any electrical equipment you are always advise to make sure it isn't enclosed and well vented. I suppose with hdd in there is less space in box so air doesn't vent as well but you can always add fan. Or buy a box with one.

          Hi

Is your fan outside the box or in? Does it switch off in standby?

          Thanks

I got the 800hd and 800se the se does not get hot at all as it has a massive fan in it.

The hd does get hot after a while...so i have a dan under it and they have been working great for well over a year now....

                Thanks alom5

Where did you get your fan from? Does it power off in standby?

you can get a cooler from the likes of poundland and can be wired into the AV socket so they power off in standby
