Guide to flash DM800 box

Hi,

I am new to this forum. I want to find a easy way to flash a new image to my DM800 box as I saw the new shipment has very cool user interface. Is there any way to connect the box to internet and it will do upgrade automatically just as my other media player boxes?

Hi mate. You need to have a look round the forum, and use the search button. All the answers you need to get your dreambox up and running are there. Start with the tutorials, once you have a little understanding, you will get more assistance. There is a lot to learn.....Good luck

My words of advice would be when you get the new box play around with it for a couple of weeks so that you learn about it, then and only then start changing images else you'll be back with a my box won't boot type post

If your box is a clone then it's important that you use clone images only as using an original image will brick the box. Find out what type of SIM the box has and then use only images that have that name in them.

Providing the box is working the update can be done by putting the box in **STOP** mode, then connecting to the box via a browser and flashing.

hi im trying to flash my dm800hd via the browser method,ive done this before and had no problems.this time however when i enter the ip address into the browser,the dreambox web control page comes on,cant see anywhere to remove this to get to the page where you hit the update box,has anyone ever had this problem,any help would be very grateful.

Are you sure your box is in flash mode.
Power off> leave for 20secs> hold the silver button in> hold Whilst you plug the box back in, keep the button pressed untill you see **STOP**, you will also see the ip address. You can then let go, and then enter the ip address in your browser. If you are having problems try IE, chrome, firefox.

You should realy listen to IAmATeaf.

Please be careful when you update your Dreambox because you might get the infamous "NO CA FOUND" error.

Believe me you will hate your box.
