    Dreambox dm800hdse reprogramming

I have a Dreambox (possibly a clone tbh) and could do with somebody in the St Helens/Manchester area to contact me to for advice on setup etc as have had it quite a few months and I'm still not 100% sure.

For some reason, it replaced the Satellite with HotBird and I can't get it to get any channels now. I have tried to search for the Satellites but it just green screens and reboots (thats if I am going into the right place - Menu - TSPanel - Tools 1 - Satellites). Really unsure about programming it myself and would rather not send it away again if I can help it.

Mate i'm sure you'll get all the help you need if you look in the dreambox section.
There are plenty of tutorials for flashing there too.

So i am guessing here that you have it on a motor? Can you make a not of your long and lat settings under tuner config

No, not on a motor at all. Should just be getting Astra 28.2 But when I go in to Satellites to try and add it, the box green screens and reboots.

I get as far as to Satellite, and left/right does nothing. It just says "nothing connected" but it is. Its only got the one port. Plus Satfinder has 100% SNR and 44% AGC so does that not imply its seeing something? I have disconnected and reconnected and connections all secure. Have also plugged into a normal sky box and got the freeview channels OK on it.

I found the Satellites Manager and went into it, and instead of the usual Astra that I expected it was replaced with Hotbird and no channels (well, about 6 freeview ones). I deleted the Hotbird satellite and was about to search for Astra and the box green screened. Now it just green screens whenever I go into Satellites Manager before I can do anything at all!

I connected to the box with Filezilla, and have editted the locations back into the cccam.cfg file that should be there, but still no channels (not even the freeview ones) and still crashes going into Satellites Manager

          TSPanel is 5.8

Didn't know there was a backup option until a few days ago! Very new to this.

you might have a corrupt image, try putting another image or d/l the one you have from another sorce and flashing on to the box again.
you dont have to use the ts panal to set up your tuner.

I guess only option is to read up on how to flash. Just scared that if its a clone and I put an official one on it will mess things up.

If you paid around ?200 for it then its most likely a clone . i use this on my dm800se (Dream Elite 3.0-dm800se-010r4-e3-SSL-84b). if its a sim 2 flash with the attached file first then click back/browse/flash then flash your image.

Cheers. As you have had obvious success, what would you recommend to flash with? There is no flash option when I input the ip address into my browser, and I have only been using filezilla to view the files on it so far.

Was going to try overwriting the satellite.xml file tonight too.

Switching the box off and then back on with power button held down (letting go when it says stop) I can't then connect to the box for some reason with my browser Connects fine if I allow it to boot up itself. Any other way to flash?

Keep the button held in for a few more seconds, untill it displays the ip address, then let go. Enter the ip into your browser you should then get the firmware upgrade page.

I've actually managed to fix it!! Messed about on the box itself installing different "images"/skins etc and eventually the satellites came back, allowing me to make the alterations in the settings and worked again! It didn't like having no satellites at all in the Satellite Manager, but as long as at least one in there it works fine! If anybody wants to delete all their satellites, maybe they can find out what I did to actually restore one.
