cross epg problems

hiya peeps having a nightmare here i have just flashed a new image open pli 2.1 on my dm800 hd clone but cannot for thew life of me get cross epg to work! i used these instructions
* Press menu then goto ts panel, if not there its in menu/plugins
* Now press addons
* goto sim2 addons
* look for EPG
* Look for crossepg then download
* Now press blue to restart
* Press menu then setup
* Now goto the bottom to crossEPG
* Pull down to upgrade rytec providers
* Now goto Config at top
* Change the storage device to your HDD just push it to right to change path
* Schedule time to say 04:00 am then press red for back
* Now goto XMLTV Providers
* Push right to skip down to bottom and press green on Rytec UK XML TV then red for back
* Now go in to Open TV Providers, enable the Sky Uk Open Tv 28.2 then red for back
* Now skip down to download now and let it down load, takes about 10 to 15 min

BUTTT after the 15 mins to download it isnt adding the epg its like it isnt downloading the info is there a different way or easier way of getting an epg?

your doing something wrong, 10-15 mins is far too long, should only be a couple of mins max.
i use open tv provider, green tick sky 28.2 then have set my download time like you have.
and thats it, not touched it since.
i use a usb stick to d/l it to.
also using a duo with a bh 1.74 image

well i left it on standby last night and it has worked cheers pal cant understand why it didnt work when i downloaded manually though

cant seam to do it maually ? i keep getting error saying cross epg error cannot open cross epg database then after another 15 seconds error opening databse

I have read many tutorials but i am having the same problem everytime.

When i turn on my dm800se (newenigma2 3.3.2) it asks me about my default storage. I can seem to mount my usb for some unknown reason and eventually when it worked this one time the epg did not update.

What version of crossepg is best suited to my image.

are you downloading cross epg through ts panel? if so have you updated your ts panel? im only asuming a 800se is same as my 800hd?

i cannot get cross epg to work at all please can some1 help? the downloader starts but it seams to fail box crash and even when it doesnt fail it only gives me epg on a couple of channels?

I have been using Crossepg for a while and all of a suden it fails to update, i have tried may variations / setting and a re image as that usually gets my box back up to scratch but still no epg.

At a guess i think there may be a fault with the server so i am playing a waiting game at the mo to see if it comes back on line.

Anybody had any problems or can sugueast an alternative ?

let me know how you get on bud and i will do same is everybody having same problem? i have used it a few times before but cannot get it working this time at all i was also thinking the servers must be down but i would have thought more people would have reported the matter on here?

I had the same problem with dream elite 3.0 flashed back to dm 2.1 its fine use cross epg in tspanel.

im using open pli 2.1 mate and im sure i have had it on this image before

I have same image you have done the same as I did apart from when getting your epg downloads just use the uk opentv one to download from that's what I do and it works every time maybe by ticking them all your overloading it

I've same problems as you guys by the sound of it. Im using BACKUP DM800se SIM210 SSL84b - Patched by riyaad image which I download off here thatnk to alom5. the image is very stable but I've always had issues with EGP download - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt and there never seems to be a set of steps which forces it to work for definate. I' thought I had it sussed at on stage when a few times after doing a download I then done a restart and that worked a few times, but then even that sequence stiopped being reliable. Now I find I have to try multiple times going through TS panel and goint through system menu and retries in between and restarting emu manager, and whether it works or not if pure random luck, often I give up and look at the sky listings on another box I've stioll connected. I think I'll try cut down to a single source of EPG provider and see if that helps, but if anyone can advise of steps that definately DO work, esp for this image I used that would be much appreciated!! i'm still using that image on my box mate ...and epg still works fine.

i use open tv and do a manual download once a week or so.

i do find that the epg has problems at the weekend.

i do a blue button - crossepg downloader ---let it download....sometimes populates immediately...other times just restart the gui and it poppulates.

also....check that it goes to a dvb or radio channel during the download....
