    ANY HELP Appreciated

    HYA,

I just got a dm800 clone and Im having problems withn motorised setup. Motor is sg2100 and dish 1mtr.

Problem is when I plug the coax to motor it wont light up.
I tested the motor with a power supply andit works fine.
Took the receiver from where i bought it and he said its ok.
Plugged it back in and dish was moving with an auto scan. I stopped the scan as was taking too long but after that motor wont budge the least bit. I believe its down to settings as after i got it ack from the guy it was moving.

    Any idea bout possible settings.
currently its setup using usals ut i cant locate any signals as no power is coming to drive motor and lnb.

Hi. It seems to me that it sounds like a cabling problem. You tested the motor and was fine and the guy in the shop said the box is also fine. Is the motor old and does it support USALS??. I would double check the cables and connections. Also if still not working why dont you take motor and box back to the shop and ask the guy to test them. It could be that either the motor or box may be faulty.
      Regards.

could also be a weak power supply as the motor draws power from the box. also dont be screwing in your cable to the motor or tuner with the power switched on as this can blow your tuner

first off thanks for the replies.

Didn't try experimenting with image as i'm new to this stuff. will have to find info on catseye image. tested the motor with the power supply from where the coax attaches to dm so cable should be fine. About motor age I'm not sure but my best guess would be around 4-6yrs at max.

I believe it shouls support usals as when i got the box yesterday it was looking for sats to the west. The power seemed to be lost after I interrupted auto scan.

Tuner is set up as simple lat and lon 14.35 and35.97 as I am from Malta.and when i zap back totuner services it says that config isusals

I think you need to do a bit more reading up mate. The motorised stuff gets a bit complicated at times. Why dont you just hook it up to one sat for now and get used to the box etc, then try again getting the motor moving about. You've jumped right in at the deep end.. mind you.. I did that also. haha

The thing is no voltage is coming on the coax so even connecting direct to lnb I wouldn't get a signal. I believe this is the biggest hurdle

Have you put the voltage to + 5 in the tuner config settings ?

the amount of voltage running through the coax cable should be 18v

I arrived to that knowledge but no voltage at all coming from the coax. Cable problem though is eliminated as if i connect a transformer to the coax where it plugs in dm800 i get v to the motor

tried that but to no avail, the only time when it worked a little was when the guy from the shop set it as
                            simple
                            lat/long
                            positioner

after these settings he zapped back to tuner serices, where you see the tuner and underneath usals.

hopefully he's supposed to come have a look today as i think the prolem is possibly from the image
