setup vlc on dm800hd pvr

any quick how to guides on setting up vlc 2.0.3 on dm800hd , want to play movies off pc laptop through dreambox......cheers

if its already on the dm800 you just add server and put ur pc laptop ip in then install vlc player on ur computer i use a older 1 like 0.98 cuz it has web interface on it, so open vlc player on pc and goto tools and add interface and select web interface, u just need to keep vlc player open on ur pc

i have managed to get my files/movies to show in vlc on dm800 however i get this message when trying to play and no picture is shown...
"VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvdsimple://'. Check the log for details."

try a different vlc player, i use 0.98 and did u install the mozilla plugin when you installed it and make sure Trancode MPEG/DVD Video is set to YES.

Hi mate I did install 0.98 as you suggested earlier, but not the Mozilla , so will try that cheers

Ok I'm getting "vlc could not open the encoder"?

Did you uninstall the old vlc reboot pc then install it again with firefox plugin and reboot

Also have a Google for pt-1's help file this will tell you how to set vlc up

yeh did all that , i am getting a picture playing a matroska/mkv but its pixalated and bad sound avi wont play...changing video sizes etc but still no joy so near but not

Use vlc player 1.0.5

I had similar problem until I use vlc player 1.0.5
