Recording from dm800 to Ubuntu machine

Hi, I've been reading all night on how to records directly from dm 800 to a pc. In particular I would like to record to my Ubuntu machine.
As far as I understand all I have to do is to create a share folder in Ubuntu and connect to it through the network mount manager.
Anybody could explain how to create a share in Ubuntu?
And should it be done as Nfs or cifs ?
Doing network browsing I can see my Ubuntu machine on my dm800 but I don't see how to share a folder successfully.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've setup a network mount point with the network mount point wizard, so it means the NFS server on my ubuntu machine is working fine.
Now I don't get how to record on that shared NFS folder. When I press the red button it says there is no HDD.
