DM800HD PVR Clone - Hard Drive won't initalise?

I installed a 500gb internal sata hard drive into my DM800HD PVR clone, but cannot get it to record.

The image I'm running is Dream Elite Blackhole v1.0.

I've formatted the hard drive on my pc before putting it in the dreambox, and I have it mounted, but when I go to initialise it, it fails each time, saying something along the lines of 'mount failed'

I can pause tv, but when I try to record anything I get the message 'No HDD found or HDD not initialized'

I'm hoping there's a simple solution of something I'm doing wrong. This is my first time having a dreambox, so I'd appreciate if someone could help me out.

    ThanksD

just use DCC or some other ftp software.

goto the HDD file sys and add a new folder named movie

    Then try record.

(I can pause tv, but when I try to record anything I get the message 'No HDD found or HDD not initialized')

In blackhole its MENU->SETUP->SYSTEMS->Harddrisk->Initialization. This will sort out your issue 100%.

In BH you need to mount the HDD as well, but some images mainly PLi seem to have a problem when auto mounting the hdd.

You can manually mount the HDD but it will state its already mounted.

The only part missed out was the creation of the movie folder which allows for recording.

Pausing is stored within the HDD root and not affected with the ability not to record.

The issue is that he is going to the wrong place to initialise the HDD. If he not good with DCC he will never figure out were to put the file. Just saying some people like to do it by the remote.

Phat you cant watch one and record another on a db800hd ,its a single tuner which means it cannot be done ..You need a twin tuner satelite reciever mate on the dreamboxes
I record one channel and watch another i recorded on file before ...regards Rhurbarb

you've only got one tuner m8, you need box with a dual tuner to do what you want.

Think you can watch a channel on the same transponder while recording tho....

Is there a way to add another tuner. An internal replacement twin-tuner would be best. Would it realy be as easy as just putting a twin-tuner in to replace the single one.

That's where I've tried to initialize it, but never have any success.

Unmount the HDD and reboot the box - then try the initialize.
