    Dreambox 800SE just died

I was literally watching something on my dreambox then the picture froze and the box beeped a few times after I tuned the box off and on and would it not start or boot up. The wifi bridge connected to the dreambox that I was using also stop flashing due to no power going to it but worked when I tested it on my laptop. I haven't opened up the box as yet but can anyone confirm if they have come across anything similar and if it can be fixed? I've checked the fuse in the plug wasn't blown but not gone any further.

Have you checked the power supply?

Apart from checking the fuse in the plug I haven't checked anything else. Is the power supply a known issue with the dreambox and if it is that is it straight forward to replace?

      Cheers

Are there any trouble shooting things that can be done to see what has gone wrong with my dreambox? I'll have to open it up tonight.

Power supply main culprit. Get one off Ebay for under 7 quid.

          Andy.

              Hi

Usual suspect is the power supply as once they go funny and drop slightest of voltages it makes the box do wierd things.

Dont let the green led on psu fool you into thinking psu is working fine.

As you have ordered a new psu that should be your box back up and running.

              Regards

Got my new power supply lead pack delivered today and indeed that was the culprit. Cheers guys for pointing me in the right direction.
