I have DM800se that boot up gives the ca error but I can get this after using Sunray and dreamup "2:34:51 PM box type: DM800
2:36:12 PM Calculating checksum..." and that's it. There must be some software to fix this error. Anyone please.

Hi I have the same problem with Clone 800HD PVR.
The box is with SIM 2.10 and the version as far as I can remember was 84.

After new firmware OpenPLi-2.1-beta-dm800-20121130.zip the only message which I have is "Err01 CA not found" coming almost immediately after the power on.
At the moment can not get anything on the COM port with Hyperterminal.

The patched version of Dreamup (DreamUP_patched_by_forhike_and_natas) hangind and after the force program is saying only File Too big.
          NCF SIM2 v2.1 - is hanging.
          DreamBox-OptiFlasher-Pro-E2-v1.0.8 - is hanging.
Tested with 2 USB->Serial converters, 3 different PCs (windows 7) with normal COM ports and 2 different VMware running windows XP and Win7.

Suppose the problem is in this SIM 2.10 which I can see is mostly used in SE boxes and this one is first edition PVR.

Any other suggestions? I suppose the COM port is completely not responding because I do not have even echo in Hyperterminal.

In this case maybe only JTAG or programer will bring it back to live?

          Thanks in advance.

I had the "no ca error" message come up on Saturday after I foolishly flashed my DM with the wrong firmware.
Luckily I'd already bought a null modem cable so I used that with dreamup and my laptop running vista and it worked a treat.
There is a post on the first page or 2 of this chat forum where i downloaded the software (thanks to the poster for that) and the laptop recognised the DM and all was well.
I really thought i'd stuffed it but luckily with the help of all those great DM forum users i got the box back and working.
If you can't find the software let me know.

Tested with fresh instilled XP SP3 with hardware COM port on it.
                No change at all.

                Thanks.

                Any other ideas?

Patience is the key. It never seems to work first time try it with different versions of dreamup and with an Ethernet cable.
Happens to alot of ppl you just have to keep trying.

Version 1.3.3. You may need to flash a boot loader first

My box is working now and the problem was just in the shitty chinese cable.
Before you try to fix your box make sure the pins on your cable are how they should be:

                          Pin 1 - Pin 4 and Pin 6
                          Pin 2 - Pin 3
                          Pin 3 - Pin 2
                          Pin 4 - Pin 1 and Pin 6
                          Pin 5 - Pin 5
                          Pin 6 - Pin 4
                          Pin 7 - Pin 8
                          Pin 8 - Pin 7
                          Pin 9 - Not used

My cable was brand new one from ebay and the pins were completely wrong (fixed with soldering iron and isolation tape) !
I've restored my box with Virtual Windows 7 running in Vmware and USB to Serial convertor without any issues, so forget about "windows xp", "physical serial port" bla bla bla ...

Lesson learned: first check the cable with multimeter if you are not sure it is working like it should.

To test the cable use hyper terminal (minicom for linux) and you should see information cumming from the box serial port otherwise forget about the rest.

                          How to do HyperTerminal/minicom test:
Connect the DreamBox and the Computer by using the null-modem Cable, start HyperTerminal. Fill in the right Com-port and use the following settings: 115200,N,8,1, XON/XOFF. Reboot the DreamBox, while starting the dreambox in case of ERR01 No CA Found the output should be similar in HyperTerminal:

Note: If you are using Windows 7/8 HyperTerminal is not coming with it by default, so you can quickly download it from internet stand alone exe + one dll file.

After you have normal serial connection you can go for Dreamup or No CA Found Repair tool the choice is yours.
