dm800 clone sim upgrade

Hi all,

I have an old dm800hd clone, with which i think has a sim1 card in it as it has bootloader 69 and any attempt to update it has failed. There is no sticker on the bottom of the box.

For me to upgrade to use a newer image, would it be as simple as buying a 2.1 sim or is there something else i'd need to consider? Also, would upgrading the sim cause any improvement in performance?

not sure mate but you should be able to upgrade to the new a8p sim. that would allow you to use original images without having to alter the image first.
