CrossEPG doesn't work!? (pics included!)

I am using SR4 DM800HD SE.

I have read Danny's guide, which isn't useful at all if you are not using the exact same image as him, as u don't have these epg configuration options for enigma like choosing the filename of the epg store, but anyway...

So I installed the Nemesis image, as it comes with CrossEPG already pre-installed, but I am still having no success.

Can anybody please suggest what I have set up wrong here?


I set up my config as such (also tried with network mounted storage, it creates a folder and some tiny files, but does not popular them with EPG data):



I chose sly uk and press "download" on the opentv selection list.
Then it just says "starting download" for a minute or so, then goes back to the OpenTV providers list,

So I press "download now" in the main CrossEPG menu, and it says this:

Reading channels
Reading Titles
Reading Summaries
Saving data
Converting data
Loading data

Then I press exit and get "tuner not available" message, although it was fine watching the channel before I did the download, not sure if this is relevant or not. (i change the channel, and its fine again).

So I don't really know what to do, nothing I do seems to give me more than now and next on my current transponder, and if I look in the crossepg folder, there are no big files where it has downloaded the epg info to, so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

My enigma epg menu's are as such:





when I press Load EPG in Eingma Cache it says:

"Load EPG data in Enigma cache from:
/media/hdd/epg.dat.
Please wait..."

But still, no full EPG, even after several reboots after doing this, and also tried rebooting after each download stage.

I am happy to use any other image if you think nemesis does not work with crossepg which is pre-installed, I'm really not fussed, I just need a proper EPG list in order to use autotimer properly, which is the only reason I bought a dreambox!

I tried using Rytec instead (I assume Rytec UK XMLTV was the correct one to pick for uk?), and pressing download, this took a lot longer downloading and populated my store folder with some large files, and when I exited crossepg, my epg data was fully populated. (well, most channels anyway).





But I am told that it's better to use the sly uk source, as it's more accurate or reliable or something, is this true?

So, anybody know why I can't download from the sly uk opentv list?

Maybe you don't have the channel in LameDB, so try doing a full manual satellite scan first. Then use the OpenTV source that matches your satellite config, either 28.2e or 28.4e but not both.

i too had problems in getting my epg but run vix,when you selected sly uk did you have green tick beside box and save it,i have a micro usb in rear for storing the info on.
rechecked mine i am not using xmltv,but open tv providers and the green tick on 28.2,on the remote i have a cross epg downloader when needed.

yes green ticked (enabled) then pressed download, it just simply doesn't want to download.



And of course I only tick one frequency (28.2E) not several.

And no, I don't have any of the channels that my enigma epg config lists (hip hop etc..), I thought that was for a different built-in epg refresh tool, I thought the crossepg downloads the epg info from the net, I didn't think it get the info from a single channel, maybe that's where the problem is.

nemisis is a pain in the backside for epg, im using dreamboxuk image on dreambox 800hd se clone and the epg works without configuring. cant find a downside to this image yet (apart from the boot screen on this version had some liverpool player on it) easy to change, even 1channels plugin works well on it.
