does anybody know if i can use the vu+ blackhole tuner server to share the tuner and hardrive movie files with a dreambox 800hd
i know i can share with another vu+ but i haven't got another vu+ only dreambox 800hd

this is just an update to tell you how i am getting on

i have got the vu+ box to stream live channels to my dreambox using partner box this has to be installed and configured on both boxes

the picture is perfect with no glitching

i still however cannot get my dreambox to access my media files from my hard drive on my vu+ box
apparently i have to get djmount working but the image i am using BH 1.6.6 will not let me start the upnp server for dj mount yet it will start mediatomb upnp server ?
i have installed the upnp update and this tells me i do not have ushare installed


i have now sorted the issue and can share all channels and hard drive with my dreambox from my vu+ solo
i used nfs share from my vu+ solo and edited the nfs server script settings to allow access from my dreambox

/media/usb/ = location shared out

192.168.x.x = network subnet to make share available to. You will need to change this based on the LAN subnet address you have set up... 192.168.x.x /
255.255.255.0 in network
rw,soft,upd,nolock
rw means read/write enabled, the options listed work well

Once the exports file is set up, reboot the receiver to be sure the changes take effect.

NFS should now be running and sharing out /media/usb over NFS

then i setup the dreambox ( nemisis 2.6 image )
goto network browser and used expert set up used the ip of the vu+ solo to scan once found change settings to match vu+ solo saved (activated) then used the media player to access the nfs share

Movie playback is perfect

can only play mkv and mp4 video
