Looking to buy DM800 SE cloner

Decided to take the plunge (after a LOT of reading) and going to buy my first DM. Opting for single Tuner DM800 SE Clone (as it's cheap and seems reliable) to get me started.

I was away to buy one from a Chinese seller (as I couldn't find a recent recommended seller when googling) and when I went to pay for the DM it said they weren't selling just now?

Anyways - had a look at UK Dreambox, who are out of stock at the minute anyways.

Does anyone have a good recommendation on who to buy from? China or UK doesn't bother me, as long as they seem honest.

btw - it's the SIM 2.10 models I was looking at - I'm new to this, so please feel free to add comments/suggestions

you would be better of buying a genuine vu+solo for about the same sort of money and is available in the uk

good choice thebesh, got one myself and ran for 12month now without issue, lot faster than standard 800 and the extra grunt helps make menu nav` smoother,
the most popular feature I use is its ability to stream all my movies over network (wired), inc 1080p stuff

ruby at L+W is a popular choice if you wanna import and save a few quid, box will be here within 5 days and tracks online throughout ,

Away to email just now. I also run MediaPortal on a Media PC and this is something I would also like to integrate - I see plugins and good to hear it can handle streaming as a lot of my MKV files are 8GB+ in size.

Although dual tuners would be nice, I just want something cheap to get me started. If I get into it and want more then I think I'll go for dual tuner box and mount motorised dish as well.

I bought the 800HD SE Wifi SIM 2.1 for $203 - which works out about 130 quid - sent off on Friday and she gave me the DHL tracker

Probably not the best time to buy with the pound being weak against the US Dollar but on the face of it at the moment this seems to be about the best China based supplier of clone DM800's. Supplying is one thing but can anybody else confirm the reliability of boxes from this supplier, say after a few months of operation. southpaw stating that his has run fine for 12 months is a good sign.

I recently bought a replacement DM800 "M" tuner which did indeed solve the glitching problem of a type "J" tuner in a particular box. I ordered it from dreamboxsales_co_uk who claim "Belfast, UK Based Dreambox Seller, with all support from the UK". Then low and behold the tuner was shipped straight from China, they are also charging much more for boxes, so you may as well buy straight from China!

Incidently that "J" type tuner works perfectly in all other boxes, clones and genuines alike. After using these DM800's for a few years I have a few theories about such problems in terms of MB / tuner combinations, power supplies, cooling, hardware/software etc. When I get the time I'll put together a cohesive report and probably post it in something like the DM800 cooling thread which is probably the most appropriate.
