    DM800se doesn't power on

    Hi

I just received DM800se clone that bought on m*****op, I connected the box the power supply and TV, the rear button is ON, but Dreambox doesn't Power on. No Image on TV, no light on Oled.

Is there something I can do or any trick to turn the Dreambox on???

    Thanks

Dreamboxes have a safety device that sometimes won't power the box up.
If you can't power the box up at all its more than likely the power supply.
    I've gone through loads.
Worth getting one off fleabay they only about a fiver.

    Andy.

It's also possible it's the tuner at fault.

I got one the other week off e*ay & it wouldn't power up at all.
So i put another tuner in & it came on no problem.

I tried the faulty tuner in another box aswell & it had the same problem...box not powering up.

I actually think the faulty tuner is for another model like the DM600 or DM500 as it looks a bit different to the 800se.

Could be the power supply box aswell ofcourse, that's the normal problem.

I tried with another power supply from another DM800 and it still doesn't work, it's probably a Tuner fault.
I gonna have to return it and now it's New Year holiday for two weeks in China!

Has anyone ever returned a Dreambox to China? Do they send a courier to collect it?

          Thanks

They don't send a courier mate, far from it, you gotta organise it and pay for shipping, also China are funny about allowing sat boxes in to there country, most people just send the mother board to get around it, as you just have a dodgy tuner might well be better off buying a new one, prob cheaper from China ,
Firstly send your box supplier an email and threaten a PayPal charge back if they not helpful

Tuner will cost you 20 dollars.
I sent whole box back you can only send back with post office its not cheap cost me 27 quid but im not certain its the Tuner.
By law you are not officially allowed to send electrical back to China they scrap them
Contact them and tell them the problem.
Another option is to buy another box off them and they will add the Tuner to the order and charge you a nominal fee that's what i did.
Tuner cost me 20 dollars and you would get more if you needed to sell it on.

                WHAT????

I just bought this one and don't even used it, I only took it out of the box, connected to the power supply and it never worked and I have to pay to get a new one??!!
I'm not really sure if it is the Tuner, I have no way to test it, I suppose I need another DM800se D6 Tuner to test it??

I tried to contact them several times on linda's, tina and Tony skype, msn, email and no answer, they are probably closed for the holidays.

These are the risks you take when trying to avoid UK charges. This is why things are more expensive here than they are to buy from China.

Can you not just buy a new tuner ?

I got one for about ?37 from a UK supplier & it solved the problem straight away.

But keep emailing them for a response, you might get lucky.

So, I managed to get in contact with them, and it seems that it is some problem with the motherboard... The receiver doesn't power up without Tuner.

They told me I have to send the motherboard back to get a new one, but the shipping cost are 78 euros, so I don't really think it's worth sending.....

I have a multimeter and some basic electronics knowledge, is there anything I could check that usually breaks????

Try Royal Mail i sent back whole unit for 27 quid.
That price seems a bit steep,

                            Andy,
They told me to send through EMS because of Chinese customs and I'm not sending from the UK but Portugal.
