800hd se clone and a mac laptop

Hi Guys. I am a total beginner and currently have an F3 but looking at experimenting a bit more and thinking of buying a 800hd se clone. My question is (could be stupid!) I don't have a laptop running windows but I do have a G4 mac powerbook. Will I still be able to connect to the 800hd se clone and flash images etc to it?

    Thanks

    Darren

Yes as long as you have an ethernet port on the G4 which i think they have, also if you are wired up to the same netwok you can also connect wirelessly.

ITgate TGM220 (swapable tuner), Dreambox 800 pro, Dreambox 500c x 2, DBox, Popbox media player.

      Thanks for your help.
Happy days. Yea there is an ethernet port on the G4 and i can also connect wireless to the router on the mac g4. I am just basically using the G4 to transfer data to the 800hd se correct? Wouldn't like to buy the box and then realize I also need to buy a laptop running windows.

Yes correct and you should be fine i have a Macbook transfering data etc and flashing the DM800 for different images is quite simple using the web interface as it is with loading you channles bouquet, and yes there is compatible software out there for the Mac.

Basically once you have your image on which it should come with it shipped, just connect your box up to the router and bobs your uncle and time to play.

Thanks for all your help. Just have to decide now should I buy from China and save a few pounds but take the chance I could get a dud or buy from the UK. Anyone any ideas regarding where to buy from China. I have read of Yaoxin which is mixeshop.com and have read they are not as good as they used to be and seems to be an increase in people getting faulty boxes. Also read about L&W technology but cant find much info on them.
