DM800HD lcd -> error!

Hi all,

I have been tearing my hair out now for a few weeks with this - I hope someone can help!

I have a DM800HD clone SIM v1 (I am thinking of ordering a replacement SIM v2.1 card).

I have installed Enigma 2 Nabiloblackhole v11 to the flash memory - via DreamUp v1.3.3.4 with serial cable, with the recover bad sectors option on - after a couple of attempts and warnings about bad sectors finally installed.

I went through the process of configuring the box with the network settings and using dreamboxEdit to re-copy over the satellites, bouquests, etc and then shut down to Deep standby - all is OK.

Now when I try and power on the box it immediately shows the dream logo and says -> error!

If I pull out the power lead and plug back in I get the same message over and over again until eventually it starts up. At this point the box works fine until I come to shut it down again which pressing "Menu" causes the screen to freeze and sound to continue to which the only option is to pull the power.

This keeps happening - I have tried this from doing the re-flash three times now BUT not getting anywhere - does anyone have any theories on:
- what is causing the ->error! lcd message?
- what is the dreambox boot process?
- would the satellite, lamedb and bouquets transfer from dmboxEdit affect it?
- would the replacement SIM card help?
- as it does eventually come on is the power supply an issue?
- are there any tools to check the flash memory status?
- would booting from USB be an option instead of Flash?

I would download a fresh image and try to flash with web browser. Less chance of a bad flash.
You could try another psu they normally play a big part with problems with most boxes.

I'll give that a try and see if there is any improvement.
